I’m part of an organisation called WOODO (women who DO!).   And a couple of months ago – we were trying to brainstorm creative, different ways to raise money and have fun at the same time!  Anyway – we decided to host a FUNdraiser with emphasis on the ‘fun’!  And we came up with Chop-Shop!  🙂

In a nutshell – it was a morning of re-cycling and up-cycling and hilarious creative-creations!  Here’s some pics:

Soo & I explaining “The Rules”… each team had to select a Mystery Box. In each Mystery Box were various, random, recyclable items / various bits of junk. Each team had 1 hour to create something unique and interesting – using whatever they discovered in their mystery boxes.

Additionally, teams had access to a whole table full of goodies… buttons, glitter, cottons, beads, scrap jewellery and other “stuff”… they could use items from the Goody Table to create their masterpiece…

The prize was a very special Franken-Trophy (created by me!)… filled with chocolates! 🙂

What to do with an ugly lamp shade base?

Teams gained extra points if they used items from the “Junk” bins which contained bits of broken plastic, old magazines, empty wine bottles, that kind of thing…

The teams… hard at work…

There was a Kid’s Corner too – where there were all sorts of goodies that the kids could use to create mini masterpieces!

My sister (Soo) with her creation…

Tony & Jo…

Team Cab created this interesting little person…

One of the other teams created a “Trash Bag” and asked Morgan to model it!

And then, there was this….

And this…

However, Team Toe-Jam took home the coveted Franken-Trophy… for their button bag… and for the fact that they had utilised all of the Mystery-Box materials – and had also included some extra junk (for extra points). Woo-hooo!
