Dragonfly (Nick took this photo - not me). 🙂 Makes me think about @tracy_j_wallett
Still here. Hiding in our forest. Still drawing (see pic) & writing every day. Still have a … complicated… relationship with social media. Still have so much to be grateful for in these mad times. Still have a close & beautiful relationship with my husband & kidlets. (Actually- those kidlets are now teens!). Still have itchy feet…. Still drink too much coffee…
On the “street” where we live. I love the combination of mist and sunshine in the forest... the forms and shapes of the light ❤️
We stayed at the White Elephant Reserve on Lake Jozini for an early celebration of Joah’s 13th... and we’ve now decided that we MUST source ourselves a wood-fired hot tub!!! Flippin’ awesome! 😀
Arriving home after a month in Plettenberg Bay, we met the latest of the zeb foals. 2020 was shit for so many people including some very dear friends. Friends who were seriously hurt in accidents, friends who received scary health news and friends who were lost to COVID . As for very fortunate me (tucked away in my Faraway Forest with my amazing family)... I’m just reminding myself, daily, of what matters most: love, kindness & gratitude... and today, I am very grateful that we get to enjoy fuzzy little zebra foals whenever we drive to town. Reminds me that there’s a bigger picture... ❤️🦓❤️
Our afternoon walk in the mist today...
Assembling her birthday crepe-cake.... 🎂
This beautiful, creative, quirky, considerate and VERY unique daughter of mine is 15 today. What an incredible 15 years it’s been!!! I’ve yet to experience the “stroppy teenager” syndrome that I’ve been warned about since kingdom-come. Nothing ornery about this girl... As I type this - she’s in the kitchen behind me happily creating a “crepe-cake” for the whole family. PS: the photo was taken during Winter when we were exploring the deeper parts of our forest (she’s always loved playing in mud!! )... ❤️❤️🎂🧁🍰🎂🎈🎈🎉🥳🎁
The road home. It’s been more than two years since we abandoned suburbia and moved in to “the wild”. I still have to pinch myself on occasion....
