I thought I’d share some of my artwork. Last year, I put together a proposal for the NGO I founded, WOODO (Women who DO!). As much as I would like to have more pie-chart & powerpoint type skills… I prefer (always!) to do things differently. I don’t know why. It’s just built in to me.
So – since WOODO is all about re-cycling, up-cycling and that kind of thing… I created a proposal that was up-cycled. It used to be an old diary of mine. I turned it into a pretty unconventional business proposal… (and had fun doing it!).
Here’s the pics…
Heather – this looks fantastic. As a writer of proposals and more proposals and more proposals, this one definitely stands out. But I would be interested to know the reaction of the recipient ? And whether the proposal was successful in its objective?
Thanks Gordon… and to answer your question, the recipient was very impressed and phoned me immediately after receiving the proposal. He set up a meeting with me – and has opened a number of doors for our organisation – which is great. He also now knows that I’m an out-of-the-box-thinker so when another (different) project popped up in Braamfontein – he immediately e-mailed me to see whether I’d be interested in consulting on “ideas”. So… I guess it works… but I think it will only work for other out-of-the-box thinkers. I don’t know whether Rule Followers would be very moved by this approach – and I often wish I had the capacity to generate a “proper” business proposal!!
Thanks Heather – that’s fantastic. As for writing proper proposals – there are plenty of those out there (and plenty writers). Don’t kill what works for you!
this is one of the coolest things i’ve ever come across, way to go heather!
Thanks Andrea. 🙂
