A couple of months ago, I wrote this post on what life was like 5 or 6 years ago versus what it’s like now. Since then, a lot of people have asked a lot of questions about our journey… what prompted these changes? How did we make these huge decisions? What were the first steps that we took? What have been our greatest challenges? Aren’t we scared? What crazy things will we do next?
…and… on a personal note: HOW did I stop shaming my body? HOW did I figure out who I really was (as opposed to who I thought I ‘should’ be)… etc
Anyway… the Mad Hatster’s Coffee Cabaret is my way of responding to those questions in a fun, creative, laid-back way.
I’ll be sharing our story… performing a few songs (that have been hidden away for too long)… and there will be lots of illustrations, multi-media and photos to peruse… (and cake & coffee to be consumed).
If you are in Joburg on the 18th of October… it would be awesome to see you there!
I’m going to be wearing a mad hat (hope you do too!)… (I’m giving away a mini book of original illustrations as a prize for the best hat).
There’s no entrance fee – (donations muchly appreciated though… there will be a HAT)… but PLEASE… The Shed is a small and cozy venue… if you plan on coming, please confirm your place. We only have room for about 50 peeps (comfortably seated). To be added to the list, please e-mail me: firstname.lastname@example.org
The address: The Shed @ Fisherman’s Village (which is on Johan Drive in Honeydew… Johan Drive is off Beyers Naude Drive). You can get further directions and GPS co-ordinates here.
Look forward to seeing you there, Jozi friends! X
