Thought I’d just share a visual blog about what we’ve been up to this week…

I have been writing and illustrating….

Nick has been editing….

The kids have been building robots…

Hard at work, building robots…

The finished robots. They’re wind-up robots, so they can walk. It’s cute to watch.

They also built a small, mechanical car (with Nick’s help)…

And… on Friday, it was my mom’s birthday… so the kids and I took her out to a lovely little coffee shop called Petit Fours where I quaffed this…

… and the kids shared an enormous waffle with ice-cream and very decadent Belgium chocolate sauce:

… and the staff sung “happy birthday” to Mom and brought her a cute little freebie…

… and after that, I dropped the kids at home with Nick – and then drove Mom to Tasha’s in Hyde Park where we met up with my sister and her boyfriend… and we shared a Baklava Cheesecake… and we composed magnet poetry…

Mom and me.

… and then Nick and I attended a movie premiere on Thursday night (of a film called Jimmy in Pienk) – but I don’t have any photos of that, because I didn’t take the camera…

… and on Friday night, we had an awesome dinner with our friends Ryley and Stephan… plus two extra-creative (and very fun people) from the film industry, Lucia and Tom.

Saturday… we we enjoyed a family lunch in Rosebank and purchased puppet-making goodies…

Saturday night was spent with our dear friends, Rogan & Tracey (meaty conversations until midnight)… and the kids had an awesome time with their new bubble-making-machine (which they built from scratch)…. (which I don’t have photos of either).

Sunday (today) – I went along to our Sunday debate / community group called “Imagine”… while Nick and the kids stayed at home and worked on the puppets (and Nick built a solar-powered rowing boat)…  here’s the pics:

Puppet stuff and paints…

Joah with the first part of his puppet spider… (Nick has a piece of oar from the solar-powered boat sticking out of his mouth)

Morgan with her puppet princess…

And that’s my mild-and-friendly little post of the week…  🙂
