I’m always game to try something new… and do something a bit different…

So – a few weeks ago, I put my name down for Kulula’s “Most South African Flight Ever”.  There were 4500 other people who also applied – but only 100 selected (of which I was one!).

So – on Saturday, I spent the morning on what can only be described as a “party flight” around Johannesburg (kinda like a party bus).  Kulula had carefully selected a very diverse group of South Africans representing every tribe, culture, sub-culture and everything in between…

(and if you know me, you’ll know how much I LOVE diversity!!).

The flight (on Kulula’s new Boeing 737-800) provided a fun (and very different)… (and very memorable)… Saturday morning.  Here’s some pics…

We got the green-carpet treatment… flanked by Men-in-Black gumboot dancers (and much singing)…

There were contortionists, circus-folk, aliens, soccer players, schlebs, a magician, a comedian, bands, rappers… and a mish-mash of crazy people all dressed up… It was ultra-odd to be doing all of this in the middle of a busy airport! hehe!

Above: I bumped into a friend I hadn’t seen for years! Mark was there with his band, “Lonehill Estate”. (Mark and Nick used to play in a band together – years ago…)

And – right at the end – we were given a slice of red velvet cake as we exited the plane…

A bit of an odd way to spend a Saturday morning… but FUN nonetheless!
